Determination of platinum group elements in impact breccias using neutron activation analysis and ultrasonic nebulization inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry after anion exchange preconcentration

چکیده
An anion exchange procedure has been optimized for the analysis of platinum group elements (PGEs) in geological samples at low abundances by adding two stages: chlorination and replicate sorption onto a small anion exchange column. Combined with neutron activation analysis (NAA) and ultrasonic nebulization inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (USN-ICP-MS) determination, this procedure is evaluated by replicate analyses of PGEs (Ru, Pd, Os, Ir, Pt), Au, Ag and Re in two reference materials, WMG-1 and WITS-1. The suitability of the method for actual geological samples was demonstrated by analyzing target rocks and breccias from the Bosumtwi impact crater, Ghana. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Selective Separation and Preconcentration of trace Amounts of Gallium in Water and Rice Samples using Cloud Point Extraction and Determination by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry
In the present study a cloud-point extraction process using non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 for selective extraction of gallium from aqueous solutions was developed. The method is based on the complex formation of Ga (III) with N, N′ -bis (salycilidene)-1, 2-phenylenediamine (salophen) as a chelating agent in buffer media of pH 5. After phase separation and dilution of the surfactant-rich pha...

Simultaneous Determination of Sub jig g-1 Levels of Impurities in High Purity Iron by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry after Circulation of Eluant through Anion Exchange Resin Mini-Column
Boron, Mo, Nb, Sn, Ta, W and Zr were separated from an iron matrix using a horizontal mini-column of an anion exchange resin. The flow of solutions through the mini-column was controlled by a peristaltic pump. The elements adsorbed on the resin were simultaneously eluted by the circulation of an eluant and determined by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. Quantitative recov...
متن کاملDetermination of rare earth elements in seawater by on-line column preconcentration inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
A home made column of commercially available iminodiacetate resin, Muromac A-1 (50-100 mesh) was used to concentrate rare earth elements (REEs) (15 elements: Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu) in seawater. An automated low pressure flow analysis method with on-line column preconcentration/inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is described for the dete...
متن کاملAutomation of a flow injection system for the determination of dissolved silver at picomolar concentrations in seawater with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry
An automated flow injection system for the determination of dissolved silver at ultratrace concentrations in seawater, and controlled under LabVIEW, is described. The flow injection system allows online processing of seawater samples before their analysis using a magnetic sector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (MS-ICP-MS) instrument. Samples were analysed with a minimum amount of m...
